Phyllis Susaine Rothe

Phyllis Susaine Rothe of South Whitley, Indiana and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:15 p.m. at The Oaks, 413 North Wolf Road, Columbia City, Indiana at the age of 90.

She was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for 50 years, prior to moving to South Whitley, Indiana. Phyllis graduated from high school in Belleville, Kansas then attended Kansas State University for two years and received a teaching degree. She worked for three years as a secretary for the Kosciusko County Auditors Office. She was a former member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church, former member of Theta Sigma Sorority, and a former member of the American Legion Post #49 Auxiliary of Warsaw.

She was born on October 25, 1922 in Belleville, Kansas to Harold William Leeding and Maye (Wagor) Leeding. She was married Charles Louis Rothe, who preceded her in death.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four granddaughters: Susie (husband Michael) Miller (South Whitley, Indiana); Carolyn (husband Leroy) Swinford (Warsaw, Indiana); Sara Mulligan (Illinois); Katherine Sette (California); three grandsons: David (wife Rachel) Hite (Warsaw, Indiana); Dan (wife Melissa) Elisha (Carmel, Indiana); Scott Elisha (California); and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Charles E. Rothe, two daughters: Cynthia L. Hite, Pamela S. Elisha, two brothers: Doyle and Don Leeding, and her sister: Maxine Moore.

No visitation is planned. A graveside service will be conducted at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. and officiated by Assistant Pastor Michael Miller. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
