Fred Muck, Jr. Obituary

Fred Foy Muck, Jr. of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Paddock Springs Assisted Living in Warsaw at the age of 75.  He was a private, quiet, kindhearted man who never knew a stranger who had a peaceful demeanor about him.

He was born on December 9, 1948, in Ashland, Ohio to Violet Waneta (Hall) and Fred Foy Muck.  Fred married Leeanna M. Anderson on October 31, 1981, and were blessed with 30 years together before she passed away on January 30, 2012.  Fred was fortunate enough to spend his remaining years with a new love of his life, Joan Helser, who survives.

Fred enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967 and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1971.  He always had a love of military history, especially WWII.  Afterwards he spent the majority of his life in Warsaw, Indiana where he worked as a truck driver, which afforded him to see God’s beauty from his truck window throughout many states.  He had the patience as a driver for when he was stuck in traffic, was delayed, or the unexpected tire blowout or mechanical issue.  He was a great mechanic and could get himself back on the road.  Fred never let the unexpected detour him as he simply kept traveling his route until he made it home.  Later, Fred was in management for Bridgestone Tire for many years.

He never tired of traveling, and enjoyed the times when he was able to go out west. Fred was a member of Cruisin Hoosiers and had a lifetime passion for cars.  If there was a car show nearby, you would find Fred there.  Always mechanically inclined, he even helped many friends build cars.  Next to cars, he had a love of dogs, especially Schnauzers. Petting and holding them always put a smile on his face.  Fred was dearly loved by many and will be missed by his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Joan Helser (Warsaw, IN); stepson, Bret (Jenny) Hopkins (Warsaw, IN); sister-in-law, Karen Anderson (Warsaw, IN); brother, Harlen Foy (Ruby) Muck (TN); and two sisters, Brenda (Michael) Vernarski (SD); Naomi Cangemi (Streetsboro, OH).  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leeanna, and his brother-in-law, Carl Anderson

Fred’s life will be celebrated with a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana with military rites at a later date.   Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
