Irene Manns Obituary

Irene Manns of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with the Lord at 12:00 noon on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Mason Health Care Center in Warsaw at the age of 90.  She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, and all of her loved ones who passed before her.

She was born on November 26, 1933, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.  Irene was one of eight children born to Lola (Allen) and Mortie Sehpherd.  She married Dayton Manns on July 20, 1957, and they were blessed with almost 30 years of marriage, before he passed away on January 22, 1997.  Together they shared their lives and moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana where they made their home in Warsaw.

Irene learned at a young age about responsibility and dedication to her family.  She was a wonderful homemaker and made sure to always be there for her children.  She was a hardworking lady who enjoyed growing her beautiful garden so that later she and her family could eat delicious vegetables throughout the year after her many hours of canning.  Irene enjoyed God’s beauty outside and loved adding to her flower garden.

She was a strong, beautiful soul that made a big impact on this world in her 90 years and loving her family in a great way.  Irene will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend to many.  Irene dedicated her life to God and her family and would most want to be remembered for her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Sharon (Curt) Sibert (Winona Lake, IN); Dee (Earl) McKenzie (Warsaw, IN); and Lori (Jesse) Hendrickson (Warsaw, IN).  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Scott (Megan) Sibert; Nicole (Kelly) Stansbury; James (Addie) McKenzie; Joe (Mary) McKenzie; Joshua (Brooklyn) McKenzie; Sarah (Chris) Stinfer; Jalessa Hendrickson; Dustin Hendrickson; Blake (Kelsey) Hendrickson; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  As well as two brothers, Pastor Wedstel (Patty) Shepherd (Claypool, IN); Edgal Shepherd (Prestonsburg, KY); and two sisters, Opal Arnett (Claypool, IN); Madeline Hopkins (Warsaw, IN).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dayton in 1997, brother, Columbus Shepherd and two sisters, Ruby Crothers, and Vina May Dotson.

Irene’s life will be celebrated on with a service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Ronnie Patrick and Steven Johnson.  She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester, Indiana.  Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11:00 - 2:00 p.m.
