Rev. Roy Lee Obituary

Rev. Roy Clay Lee of Warsaw, Indiana and was a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Grace Village Healthcare at the age of 90.  He loved serving his Lord and Savior and proudly preached since 1957 and spent his life as a church planter.

He was born on April 14, 1933, in Muncie, Indiana.  He was one of seven children born to Edna (Fine) Lee and William Anderson Lee.  Roy married Linda Hoagland and they had 37 years together before she passed away in August of 1989.  He was blessed to have found someone to spend his life with again and married Nancy Jo Nelson on January 1, 1990.  They shared 34 years together before Roy passed away.

Roy was a Korean Veteran and enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 14, 1954.  He proudly served until his honorable discharge on January 7, 1956.  He spent his life as a pastor in the United Methodist Church and like the apostle Paul, did church planting on his missionary journeys.  Roy attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Northern Indiana Methodist Conference.

He was a kind man, with love in his heart for spreading the Word.  He had a great sense of humor and made a big impact on this world in his 90 years.  Roy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and a friend to many.   He would most want to be remembered for his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and is now rewarded with his eternal home in Heaven!

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nancy Jo Lee (Warsaw, IN); two sons, Michael (Cheryl) Lee (Albany, GA); Emmett Dean Lee (Phoenix, AZ); daughter, Mary Katherine (Randy) Amburn (Parker City, IN); two step-sons, Dan (Geraldine) Nelson (Warsaw, IN); Joe (Janet) Nelson (Warsaw, IN); and his step-daughter, Annette (Kurt) Feneley (LaPorte, IN).  Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Linda, four brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Owen, and George Lee; and two sisters, Dorothy Wallace and Mary Jane Melman.

Roy’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Aaron Klein and assisted by Kurt Feneley. Friends and family can visit an hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
