Arden Williamson Obituary

Arden Devon Williamson formerly of Pierceton, Indiana passed away on at 2:22 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 98.

Arden was born on February 23, 1921 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to Fern E. (Yeiter) Williamson and Fred Chester Williamson.  On January 31, 1942 he was married to Maxine Ruth (Miller) Williamson.  They shared 71 years of marriage together before she passed away on March 5, 2013.

Arden was a 1939 graduate of Atwood High School in Atwood, Indiana.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 17, 1942 and proudly served during World War II.  He was honorably discharged on January 14, 1946 and received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, and the WWII Victory Medal.  He spent most of his life in Whitley County, Indiana where he worked as a proud livestock and grain farmer, and attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church of Warsaw.  He was a hard worker and lived a long life full of experiences and will be dearly missed by his family. 

He is survived by his two Sons:  Robert (Connie) Williamson (North Webster, Indiana); Ron (Cindy) Williamson (Goshen, Indiana); ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren; and his sister:  Lucille Grimm (North Manchester, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, daughter, Betty Zolman, son-in-law, Fred Zolman, and his daughter, Judy Williamson.            

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  His funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. and officiated by Reverend Holly White.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton, Indiana with military rites conducted by active members of the Army Honor Guard, American Legion Post #258 of Pierceton.    

Memorial donations in Arden’s name may be directed to Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, 1483 N. 575 E., Warsaw, Indiana  46582; or to Harbor Light Hospice, 1820 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, Indiana  46545 and would be appreciated by the family.
