Austin James Grindle

Austin James Grindle of Warsaw, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 23.

He was born on October 16, 1994 in Warsaw, Indiana to Heather (Howard) Sand and James Grindle.

Austin was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he completed high school in 2013.  He worked at Keystone RV Company in Middlebury, Indiana. 

More than just a son, brother, or friend; Austin was a protector setting out to be an example of compassion and caring.  He will forever be remembered for his loving heart and his unending selfless character exemplified by putting his family and friends before himself.  His witty personality was on constant display to raise everyone's spirits around him.  His love for his sisters never-ending, fondness for fishing and hunting everlasting, and a determination that could not be deterred.  Able to light up a room with an amazing smile that could brighten the darkest days. 

Austin's time with us was way too short, but he left a beautiful legacy with us that will last a lifetime.  He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and many friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Heather Sand and his step-father, Brian Sand (Leesburg, Indiana); father:  James Grindle (Del Ray Beach, Florida); four sisters:  Adrian R. Grindle (Warsaw, Indiana); Alyson N. Grindle (Leesburg, Indiana); Addison G. Sand (Leesburg, Indiana); and Chloe L. Plank (Leola, Pennsylvania).  He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents:    Linda and Brian Fuller (Warsaw, Indiana); paternal grandparents:  Wilburta J. and Steve Banghart (Warsaw, Indiana); maternal step-grandmother:  Ann M. Howard (Larwill, Indiana); and his paternal step-grandmother:  Lisa S. Sand (Leesburg, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Donald R. Howard and his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Grindle.           

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

His funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Dr. Ronald E. Manahan.
