Betty Henry Obituary

Betty Louise Henry of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 94.

She was born on August 15, 1923 in Deposit, New York to John Melvin Galleher and Margaret Pearl (Emig) Galleher.  On January 10, 1948 she was married to Kenneth Merle Henry, who passed away in May 1999.

Betty was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 30 years.  She graduated from high school in 1941 in Huntington, Indiana.  For a number of years she worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne, then later at Magnatek in Huntington until her retirement after 20 years of service.  She loved the outdoors, bird watching, and drawing.  She especially loved her grandchildren who were near and dear to her.  She lived a full 94 years throughout her life and will be dearly missed. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her five daughters:  Jan (husband Bill) Achenbach (Rochester, Indiana); Sandie (husband John) Ruiz (Butler, Indiana); Marjie (husband Kyle) Myers (Huntington, Indiana); Jill Henry (North Webster, Indiana); and Mary Ann (husband Tim) Collins (North Webster, Indiana).  She also leaves behind nine grandchildren:  Shawn Pletch, Aaron Foster, Aimee Moore, Scott Myers, Tiffany Maher, Danelle Aspinwall, Cory Piper, T.J. Collins, Jack Collins; and several step-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.           

The family will have a special gathering to celebrate Betty’s life at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed to the North Webster Community Center, 301 N Main St, North Webster, Indiana  46555 and would be appreciated by the family.
