David Fruit of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age of 54.
He was born on January 12, 1965 in Wabash, Indiana to Barbara Nel (Schaaf) Fruit and Lewis “Lewie” Lee Fruit.
David was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 1983 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He attended two years of college, and then worked for the past 22 years for Da-Lite Screen in Warsaw. He retired in 2018 due to illness. David was a member of ABATE of Indiana, and a proud member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). He enjoyed playing his guitar and he loved to take long rides on his motorcycle, Jezebel. Most of all he had a real love for family especially his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Brandon Fruit (Fort Wayne, Indiana); two daughters: Tiffany (Daniel) Hollett (Warsaw, Indiana); Rachael Fruit (Syracuse, Indiana); and his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother: Barbara Fruit (Warsaw, Indiana); five brothers: Rick (Sandy) Fruit (Cape Coral, Florida); Fred (Deb) Johnson (Warsaw, Indiana); Terry (Patty) Miller (Panama City, Florida); Kevin Johnson (Vero Beach, Florida); Chuck Denman (Florence, Alabama); and three sisters: Peg (Greg) Burgher (Warsaw, Indiana); Sheena Watson (South Bend, Indiana); Carol Chapman (South Bend, Indiana). He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis “Lewie” Fruit in 2017.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. There will also be calling an hour prior to the service on Thursday, May 30 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
His funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Mike Beezley. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana.
