Elleree Johnson

Elleree Johnson of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:38 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age 84. 

She was born on June 14, 1935 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Lola (Miller) Owens and James Owens.  On February 12, 1958 she was married to Butler Johnson, who survives. 

Elleree was a member of New Creation Fellowship in Warsaw, where she always made herself available to volunteer her time and help wherever she was able to.  She loved and supported her church and church family. 

She was loved by friends and family alike for her contagious smile, sense of humor and her welcoming spirit to everyone who had the privilege to meet her. Elleree was no stranger to the many joys she relished throughout her life, but she also experienced many losses.  She had a loving heart full of empathy for others who also had to cope with the loss of a loved one.  She made sure that they knew they were not alone in their journey.  This lasting legacy speaks to the strength of her spirit and humility. 

Elleree was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many.  She dearly loved her family and very much enjoyed spoiling her many grandchildren.  She would most want to be remembered for her steadfast faith in her Savior Jesus Christ!  She will be forever loved and missed. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Butler Johnson (Warsaw, Indiana); son:  Pastor Rick (Martha) Johnson (Winona Lake, Indiana); daughter:  Karen Elaine Seals (Kewanna, Indiana); six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; and her sister:  Jearlean Hyden (Warsaw, Indiana).  She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Dennis Howard, two sons:  Larry Gene Howard, Phillip Alan Johnson, one daughter, Lorane Faye Howard, two brothers:  William Lee Owens, Adron B. Owens, and one sister, Ada Jearie Prater.           

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Elleree’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service that will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by her son, Pastor Rick Johnson.  Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
