Emma Reffitt of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 7:23 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw at the age of 94.
She was born on August 3, 1924 in Risner, Kentucky to James Maynard Hale and Mary (Marsillett) Hale. On May 9, 1941 she was married to Amos Reffitt. They shared 64 years of marriage together before he passed away on August 10, 2005.
Emma has lived in Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 65 years, she moved to Claypool, Indiana in 1953. For many years she worked at the Blue Bell in Warsaw as a seamstress. In 1981 she started working at Zimmer, Inc. in Warsaw as a seamstress, and later with the building and grounds department, retiring in 1989. She loved to sew, crochet, quilt, garden, and she enjoyed cooking. Emma especially loved her family as well as her two little dogs, Maggie and Benson. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County where she simply enjoyed attending church and all of the singing specials with her late husband. Emma will be forever loved and dearly missed by her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Christine (Bob) Evans (Warsaw, Indiana); three grandchildren: Michael (Annie) Haywood (Warsaw, Indiana); Bill Haywood (Roann, Indiana); and Ami (David) Pitt (Warsaw, Indiana). She leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren: April, Caleb, Meghan, Christiann, Emma, Skye, Canaan, Kyle, Sarah, Rissa and Carolyn; eleven great-great-grandchildren: Bhrett, Brady, Pyper, Lyrick, Gavin, Owen, Isaac, Renley, Adam, and two on the way; and her sister-in-law: Josephine Yates (Warsaw, Indiana). She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos, son-in-law, Bob Haywood, two sisters, five brothers, and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
