Evelyn Rose (White) Woods Bridges

Evelyn Rose (White) Woods Bridges of Addison, Michigan passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Hospice of Lenawee Home, Adrian Michigan at the age of 92.

She was born on August 30, 1925 in Bedford, Indiana to Orin White and Myrtle (Craig) White.  She was married on August 21, 1949 to James E. Woods from Terre Haute, Indiana.  After her husband James died, on December 13, 1965, she remarried Eugene Scott Bridges of Mitchell, Indiana in January 1970, he passed away on Easter Sunday in 1990.

She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1943 and later from Indiana State Teacher’s College with a degree in Home Economics in 1953. She was a great homemaker, but most of all she will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons:  James Daryl “J.D.” (Jeanie) Woods (Warsaw, Indiana); Mark Edward (Michelle) Woods (Albion, Indiana); John Nelson (Diane) Woods (Warsaw, Indiana); and Michael Drew (Diana) Woods (Addison, Michigan).  Evelyn was blessed with twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also surviving is her younger sister, Anna Belle Smith (Mount Pleasant, Michigan).  She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two siblings, Kenneth Eugene and Merlin Dale White, and her son William Dennis Woods who died June 1960.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Her funeral service will follow immediately at 6:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home. 

Burial will take place on Thursday, August 23, 2018 with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Silverville, Indiana.  Friends and family members are welcome.
