Georgina “Jean” A. Ansell of Winona Lake, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 85.
She was born on March 24, 1932 in Willoughby, Ohio to Daniel S. Beardsley and Ingabord D. (Seehuus) Beardsley. On December 16, 1950 she was married to James D. Ansell, who passed away in July 2008.
Jean was a resident of Winona Lake, moving here from Akron, Ohio. She worked for many years at Banc One and was also a church secretary. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Winona Lake. Church had been a very important part of her life, and she very much enjoyed contributing her talents to her church family serving as organist, choir director, and Sunday school teacher. Jean was an active volunteer throughout her life. She especially enjoyed supporting and volunteering at Urban Vision in Akron, Ohio. She also loved spending time with friends at KCSS. Jean will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Daniel C. Ansell (Fort Wayne, Indiana), daughter: Catherine M. (Tim) Hood (Winona Lake, Indiana); and her son-in-law: Garth Bertschi (Columbus, Ohio). Also surviving are nine grandchildren: David (Angela) Bertschi (Columbus, Ohio); Dean (Pamela) Bertschi (Columbus, Ohio); Denise (Will) Buck (Columbus, Ohio); Garth (Lori) Bertschi II (Jackson, Ohio); Brian (Christy) Ansell (New Franklin, Ohio); Philip (Camitra) Hood (St. Augustine, Florida); Aaron (Treasure) Hood (Warsaw, Indiana); Jared (Megan) Hood (Kijabe, Kenya, Africa); Andrew (Jenie Jill) Hood (Mason, Ohio); twenty great-grandchildren: Pammy, Ashley, Madison, Taylor, Lindsay, J.J., Gabe, James, Grant, Savannah, Calista, Macy, Ryan, Dane, Gavin, Garrett, Lena, Addilyn, Helen May, and Braelynn; and her brother: Larry (Anita) Beardsley, (Newton Falls, Ohio). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Patrick Ansell, and her daughter: Susan Bertschi.
Her memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 708 College Avenue, Winona Lake, Indiana and officiated by Pastor John Quigley. Burial will be at a later date at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
