Jacqueline Rose Tinkey of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 88.
She was born on October 26, 1930 in Pierceton, Indiana to Gail H. (Parker) Stroupe and William H. Stroupe. On December 11, 1948 in Pierceton she was married to Rex Leroy Tinkey. They shared 65 years of marriage together before he passed away on May 3, 2014.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where she was a 1948 graduate of Pierceton High School. She was a member of Pierceton Presbyterian Church, was the owner of Jacqueline’s Beauty Salon in Pierceton and retired as the secretary of Pierceton Middle School. Jacqueline was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and she loved to play bridge and golf with her husband. Jacqueline achieved what every golfer has ever wanted….A HOLE IN ONE! In her lifetime she had the proud distinction of having done it twice.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Rick Tinkey (Warsaw, Indiana); Thad Tinkey (Englewood, Florida); granddaughter: Kayla McCool (Goshen, Indiana); two grandsons: Dan and Phil Tinkey (both of Syracuse, Indiana); and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.
No visitation or services are planned, a private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
