Kenneth "Ken" A. Spangle

Kenneth “Ken” A. Spangle of Claypool, Indiana passed away peacefully at home at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the age of 85.  

He was born on February 25, 1933 in Burket, Indiana to Margaret (Holloway) Spangle and Owen F. Spangle.  He was married on May 1, 1954 to Beverly “Joan” (Gall) Spangle.  They were married for 58 years before she passed away on April 27, 2012.

Ken was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 1952 graduate of Silver Lake High School in Silver Lake, Indiana.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge in 1955.  He was a yard foreman for Miller & Son’s Lumber Company in Silver Lake for over 30 years.  Ken was a retired gentleman farmer until his passing.  He was a devoted husband, a beautiful father and grandfather and will be sadly missed and forever loved. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his two Daughters:  Cindy (husband Morris) Jones (Silver Lake, Indiana); Sharon (husband Jon) Lynch (Silver Lake, Indiana); and two Sons:  James (wife Heidi) Spangle (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Dan Spangle (Silver Lake, Indiana).  He leaves behind eight grandchildren:  Joshua (wife Sarah) Spangle (Warsaw, Indiana); Ryann Jones (Indianapolis, Indiana); Amy (husband Brett) Leach (Sidney, Indiana); Nicholas Spangle (Warsaw, Indiana); Morgan (Daniel) Martin (Brownsburg, Indiana); Austin Jones (Silver Lake, Indiana); Tanner Spangle (Warsaw, Indiana); Emily Lynch (Silver Lake, Indiana); and three great-grandchildren:  Vivienne and Max Spangle (both of Warsaw); and Taytum Martin (Brownsburg, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one granddaughter.           

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  His funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Glenn Hall. 

Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton, Indiana and active duty members of the Army Honor Guard.
