Lewis "Lewie" Lee Fruit of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his residence at the age of 88.

He was born on September 29, 1929 in Claypool, Indiana to Violet Maurine (McComb) Fruit and Walter Homer Fruit.  On June 19, 1949 he was married to Barbara Nel (Schaaf) Fruit, who survives.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Fruit (Warsaw, Indiana); two sons:  Rick (wife Sandy) Fruit (Michigan City, Indiana); David Fruit (Warsaw, Indiana); and his daughter:  Peg (husband Greg) Burgher (Warsaw, Indiana).  Also surviving are eight grandchildren:  Tiffany Fruit (Warsaw, Indiana); Brandon Fruit (Ft. Wayne, Indiana); Rachael Fruit (Warsaw, Indiana); Katie (husband Jake) Jacquay (Warsaw, Indiana); Lori (husband Paul) Chase (Louisville, Kentucky); Josh (wife Robin) Burgher (New York, New York); Matt (wife Julie) Burgher (Evansville, Indiana); Ryan (wife Neena) Burgher (Warsaw, Indiana); and his brother:  Jim Fruitt (Lincoln, California).  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Marilyn Summe.
