Obituary

Paul Eugene McGlennen of Silver Lake, Indiana passed away at his home surrounded by family at 4:21 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the age of 70.

He was born on May 14, 1948 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Virginia (Laughlin) McGlennen and Raymond McGlennen.  He was married on November 24, 1973 to Marsha (Truex) McGlennen.  They had three sons before they divorced.

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 15, 1968 and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He proudly served until his honorable discharge on May 31, 1970.  He worked construction for 25 years for Dave Poor and Bill Batalis, worked for G.I. Polishing in Warsaw, and retired from Zimmer Inc. of Warsaw after 20 years as a polisher.  Paul was never afraid of a hard day’s work because it meant he was taking care of his family.  He will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons:  Jason (Angel) McGlennen (Silver Lake, Indiana); Brandon (Wanda) McGlennen (San Francisco, California); and Morgan (Michelle) McGlennen (Silver Lake, Indiana).  Also surviving are nine Grandchildren:  Lucas and Emily Gilbertson; Makayla McGlennen (all of Silver Lake, Indiana);  Kathan and Callen McGlennen (San Francisco, California); Konnor, Kierstin, Kiera, and Kailyn McGlennen (all of Silver Lake, Indiana); two great grandchildren:  Kaisen and Kailani Gilbertson; two brothers:  Mike McGlennen (Palestine, Indiana); and Terry McGlennen (North Carolina).  He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Paul’s three sons:  Jason, Brandon, and Morgan McGlennen have invited friends and family to come and celebrate their Dad’s life on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Silver Lake Lions Club, 108 N. Harrison Street, Silver Lake, Indiana.  There will be an hour of visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Kent Harting.  A graveside service will follow with burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana with full military rites conducted by active duty members of the Army Honor Guard, American Legion Post 49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
