Richard Michael Stroh formerly of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 2:06 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 74.
He was born on August 13, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to Edna Elizabeth (Pletz) Stroh and Wendelin Andrew Stroh. On August 10, 1991 he was married to Sheryl (Rose) Stroh, who survives.
Richard was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for 51 years and most recently he had been living in Somerset, Indiana. He was a 1963 graduate of Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago and then attended college for two years. Over the course of his lifetime he had worked at various places such as A&P Grocery as a meat cutter, at Sarber’s and Bales Butcher Shop in Syracuse as well as Woodies Supermarket in Warsaw. In 1985 he began working for Cardinal Services in Warsaw as a bus driver for KABS (Kosciusko Area Bus System) servicing Head Start and he worked until he retired in 2007. Richard loved many things especially fishing, playing chess, and he enjoyed classic cars. One of his favorite pastimes was going to eat at Kentucky Fried Chicken with his grandchildren after church. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warsaw which was a very important part of his life. Richard lived his life to serve others and he will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Sheryl Stroh (Warsaw, Indiana); daughter: Wendy (Don) King (Warsaw, Indiana); and his beloved three grandchildren: Jensine, Hunter and Hannah. He was preceded in death his parents, brother, Donald Stroh, and his son Michael in 2018.
Richards life will be celebrated by Father Phil DeVolder with prayers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Family and friends may visit prior to the service from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.
