Suzanne H. Belknap

Suzanne H. Belknap of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake, Indiana at the age of 81.

She was born on February 19, 1936 in Painesville, Ohio to Harriet Kathryn (Deitrich) and Francis Dorwin Hendrick. 

Suzanne graduated from high school in 1954 in Mantua, Ohio.  When she was a sophomore in high school she met her future husband, Charles Ellis Belknap.  They were married on August 6, 1960.

She received her bachelor's degree in 1963 from Kent State University in Ohio, and received her master's degree from Indiana University Fort Wayne in 1973.  Suzanne spent her life teaching hundreds of children as an elementary school teacher.  She taught for ten years in the towns of Aurora and Mantua, Ohio, and for 29 years she taught at Fort Wayne Christian School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 2000.

She moved to Warsaw, Indiana in 2010 and attended Warsaw Community Church.  She very much enjoyed her Parkinson support group in Warsaw.  Suzanne was a great wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Charles Belknap (Warsaw, Indiana); son Jeffrey (wife Natalie) Belknap (New Haven, Indiana); and daughter Julie (husband Scott) Nieveen (Warsaw, Indiana).  Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Alison (Logan) Weber, Kaiti (Derrick) Cooper, and Camerin Belknap; Hailey (Luis) Flores, Kensey, Drew (Mallory) and Ellie Nieveen; three great-grandchildren:  Raegan and Colton Weber, and Oliver Cooper; and her sister Sandi Anderson (Charlotte, North Carolina).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 E. Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  There will be one hour of visitation from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service.  She will be buried at a later date at a cemetery in Mantua, Ohio.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations in Suzanne's name may be directed to Lakeland Christian Academy, 1093 S 250 E, Winona Lake, IN 46590 and would be appreciated by the family.
