Vivian Louise Frantz of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 10:56 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 92.
She was born on November 29, 1925 in Winona Lake, Indiana, in the home of her grandparents, to Ethel (Snell) Swartz and Donald Swartz.
Vivian grew up on a farm in Monroe Township and graduated in 1943 as the salutatorian of her class from Sidney High School. After graduation she traveled to Houston, Texas to marry her high school sweetheart, Darrel Max Frantz, on July 10, 1943. After the war, they settled in Sidney, Indiana. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before he passed away at their winter home in Panama City, Florida on May 2, 1994.
She lived in Florida from that time on until moving back to Indiana in the summer of 2009. Vivian will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: John (wife Kimberly) Frantz (Burlington, Kentucky); daughter: Mary (husband Dennis) Anderson (Warsaw, Indiana); three grandchildren: Kristan (husband Matt) Donk (Ft. Wayne, Indiana); Donald Frantz (Aurora, Indiana); Kara (husband Nicholas) Schafer (Madison, Indiana); and three great-grandchildren: Alexander Juliano (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Dylan and Liam Schafer (Madison, Indiana). Also surviving are five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
