Alan Gottschalk Obituary

Alan Jay Gottschalk of Warsaw, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at 9:17 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his residence in Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 57.

He was born on February 17, 1964 in South Bend, Indiana.  He was one of three children born to Darlene Aun (Davis) Gottschalk and Jacob Allen Gottschalk. 

Alan graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, Indiana in 1982.  He had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 20 years where he had worked in food services his entire lifetime.  He had a love and talent for cooking and he enjoyed entertaining friends and family.  Alan dearly loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the time spent with them on many occasions and celebrations.  He also had a soft spot for animals and over the years he cared for many that had come across his path.  He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many…he will be dearly missed. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother:  Darlene Aun Gottschalk (Winona Lake, Indiana); sister:  Lorrie (Steve) Makofka (Dayton, Ohio); brother:  Jeff (Heather) Gottschalk (Warsaw, Indiana); and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Gottschalk, in 1992.            

Alan’s family will mourn his passing privately and all prayers are welcome.  He will be laid to rest at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
