Barbara Ann Blackford of Warsaw, Indiana passed away surrounded by family at her home at 9:08 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 due to natural causes at the age of 86.
She was born on February 27, 1934 in Warsaw, Indiana to Lena (Reed) Rose and John Russell Rose. On October 7, 1950 she was married to Myron Dean Blackford. They shared 69 years of marriage together before he passed away on February 18, 2020.
Barbara and her husband were members of Community Bible Church in Warsaw. She worked for over 20 years at Uniroyal Inc. in Warsaw where she mixed the colors for the various tanks. She loved going to work because she worked at Uniroyal with her husband Dean, and they were able to retire together in 1995. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister…she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Russell (Amber) Blackford (Leesburg, Indiana); three daughters: Myra Kimball (Warsaw, Indiana); Rhonda Cox (Warsaw, Indiana); Kelly (David) Walker (Warsaw, Indiana); 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister: Betty Leek (Warsaw, Indiana). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, three brothers, grandson, Russell B. Blackford, Jr., granddaughter, Tara L. Miller, and one great-grandson, Riley Blackford.
Barbara’s life will be celebrated with a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw on Monday, April 13, 2020 and officiated by Pastor Keith Rickert. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
