Carol Jean Emerick

Carol Jean Emerick of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 83.

She was born on December 24, 1939, in Powellton, West Virginia to Edith Allyn (Hartwell) Whitmyer.  On June 14, 1985, Carol married William John Emerick, Jr.  They were blessed with eleven years together before William passed away on May 20, 1996. 

Carol was a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 23 years where she worked as a teacher's aide at Pierceton Elementary School in Pierceton, Indiana for several years.  Throughout her life she worked in accounting for over 40 years.  Carol attended Pathway Church in Warsaw where she enjoyed being active in the children’s ministries.  She was a loving friend to many and always adored the many children she helped to teach and lead them to experience Jesus' love in a variety of ways through her church.  Carol will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted Christian, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

She leaves behind her daughter, Dana McAfee (Warsaw, IN); two grandchildren, Courtney Emerick and fiancé Jack (Cleveland, OH); and Christian (Emily) Emerick (Warsaw, IN).  She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and her son Robert Emerick in December 2020. 

Carol’s life will be celebrated with a private graveside service on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
