Clarence Cook Obituary

Our loved one has completed his work here on Earth and has gone to get his Heavenly reward!  Clarence Cook, a resident of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, Indiana since 1946, succumbed to Cancer at the age of 98.  He passed away peacefully, in his home at 3:41 a.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

He never met a stranger! Clarence had a vibrant personality and would help anyone at any time.  His smile would light up the room and he often shared the incredible joy he felt for life and his love of Jesus Christ.  He was a steadfast, faithful member of Warsaw Church of God.

A dedicated and loyal worker, Clarence worked for several businesses and companies in Warsaw.  He worked for Hayes Hotel, Arnolt Corporation for 21 years and retired in 1987 after working for 17 years at R.R. Donnelley and Sons.

Clarence, the son of the late Malvin and Rosie Dell (Smith) Cook, was born on August 24, 1922 in Coweta County, Newnan, Georgia.  He received his elementary education in the public schools of Newnan, Georgia.  As a young adult in Newnan, Georgia, Clarence accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he was never shy about sharing his testimony.

Clarence and the late H. Louise Cook were united in Holy Matrimony on October 21, 1942 in Newnan, Georgia with the late Pastor Wallace Farmer officiating.  To this union four children were born:  Clarence (Jack), William (Bill), Mary and the late Patricia.  He was a dedicated husband and father who worked hard and was always striving to make a satisfying, exceptional living for his family.  He excelled in growing gardens!  For several years he had incredible leafy green and root vegetables and fruits in his garden.  He always had more than enough produce to share with his family, friends and many others.  He and Louise were also avid travelers and enjoyed many trips.

Clarence Cook’s (Granddad’s) loving, admirable, memories will be cherished by his two sons:  Clarence E. “Jack” (wife Marsha) Cook; William M. “Bill” (wife Doris) Cook (Warsaw, Indiana); and his daughter: Mary E. (husband Carl) Evans (South Bend, Indiana);  He also leaves behind eight grandchildren:  Matthew (wife Janet) Cook (Irvine, California); Leticia (husband Byron) Burns (Christiana, Tennessee); Brian (wife Karin) Cook (Indianapolis, Indiana); Erin (husband Travis) Saunders (Grove City, Ohio); Isaac (wife JaKayla) Evans (South Bend, Indiana); Philip (wife Camille) Evans (Granger, Indiana); Joy (Evans) Green (Indianapolis, Indiana); Marco (wife Tashanna) Barnes (Granger, Indiana) and thirteen great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Alyssa, and Jada Burns, Brenden and Sydney Cook, Malachi, Caleb, Daniel, Ethan, Averle and Silas Evans, Xavier and Sasha Saunders.  He was loved and will be fondly remembered by his devoted nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four siblings and his daughter.

Clarence’s life will be celebrated with a private family service officiated by Pastor Tim Kumfer and Pastor Jerry Yoder.  Private family burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  A Homegoing Celebration for Clarence Cook will be held later in 2021.
