Cynthia Allen Sumpter of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center of Warsaw at the age of 63.
She was born on March 21, 1958 in Oak Park, Illinois to Barbara (Dangel) Allen and Fredrick McKown Allen. On May 13, 1994 she was married to David Brent Sumpter, Sr.
Cynthia has been a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past seven years. In her younger years she loved to read, but all of her life she LOVED to talk! She could talk your ear off and enjoyed a good conversation with friends and family and she too was eager to listen to others. Cynthia never had a problem finding topics to talk about and she especially loved to brag on Color Street Nails. She loved that simply having her nails done made her feel great and that she could do them herself. Cynthia loved vibrant, glossy, stunning nail art designs. Glitters, solids, bright and colorful wild designs were a staple on her fingernails. She suffered from Syringomyelia all of her life, a disorder in which a cyst or cavity forms within the spinal cord which limited her mobility but it never stopped her from having a good life. She was a fighter and her family referred to her as their cat with 10,000 lives! She absolutely loved her grandchildren and lived vicariously through her sons. She had a loving heart and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband: David Brent Sumpter, Sr. (Warsaw, Indiana); two sons: David B. (Rachel) Sumpter, Jr. (Warsaw, Indiana); Michael S. (Jennifer Bolton) Sumpter (Grand Rapids, Michigan); and her two favorite grandchildren: Lilianna and Cora Sumpter. She also leaves behind two brothers: Scott Allen (Illinois); Rick Allen (Michigan); and two sisters: Jane Allen (Michigan); Karen Allen (Illinois). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cynthia’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Chaplain Randall Myers. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to the service from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to David Brent, Jr., 1720 S. Country Club Road, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 to go towards Cynthia’s beloved grandchildren’s education.
