Obituary

Deena L. Wilson, of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by many of her loved ones on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 69 after fiercely fighting and losing her battle with appendix cancer.

Deena was born on July 17, 1953 in Plymouth, Indiana to Dale and Marilene (Meese) Sensibaugh.  Although she spent most of her life living in Warsaw, Deena also lived in Miami, Florida, Fort Wayne, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois.

Deena retired from Zimmer in Warsaw after 26 years. She was a creative person who loved to decorate her home and had an eye for fashion. What brought Deena the most joy was worshiping the Lord and being a member of New Creation Fellowship Church in Warsaw. She loved being involved with the church from her love of Bible studies, the women’s group, helping out with VBS, and everything that comes with fellowship in Christ. She had a servant’s heart and welcomed serving the Lord in any way she could. She sponsored children for 36 years through Compassion International. At the time of her death, she was sponsoring seven children, writing letters to them, helping them with their education, and sending special gifts. It was a mission close to her heart.

A courageous, strong, beautiful soul, Deena was an absolute inspiration to everyone who knew her, even if she didn’t think of herself as one.  She had a kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor, she made a big impact on this world in her 69 years.  She spent her time on this earth living her life to the fullest and loving people in the way only she could, Deena will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Duane Wilson (Warsaw, IN); daughter, Vanessa (Ryan) Trammell (Carmel, IN); son, Aubrey Strayer (Portland, OR); and her step-daughter, Krista (Nate) Polston (Warsaw, IN).  Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Tate, Pete, and Reeve Trammell (Carmel, IN); two step-grandchildren, Maddox and Nash Polston (Warsaw, IN); four sisters, Angie Baugher (LaPorte, IN); Peg Blair (Gallatin, TN); Deb (Tony) Thompson (Warsaw, IN); Barb (Steve) Reed (Warsaw, IN); two brothers, Doug (Teresa) Sensibaugh (Dunnellon, FL); Jamie (Lea) Sensibaugh (Chesterton, IN); Two sisters-in-law, Lu Anne (Randy) Ohms (Fremont, OH) and Patti Sensibaugh (Warsaw, IN); father-in-law, Arnold Wilson (Fremont, OH); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a great-great-niece.  Deena was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Meredith “Bud” Sensibaugh.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Deena’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Rick Johnson.
