Devan Dotson Obituary

Devan Ray Dotson of North Manchester, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at 1:32 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 42.

He was born on July 2, 1979 in Sacramento, California to Kim Rae (Bradford) Dotson and Dennis Dotson.  He was married to Kandy Dotson, and though they divorced they shared the love of their two children.

Devan was a 1998 graduate of Warsaw High School, Warsaw, Indiana and attended DARE classes thru the school system.  He performed property preservation work most of his adult life and for years was a partner in his own Property Preservation company with his brother. He loved his family, karaoke, and vintage muscle cars, primarily old Mustangs. Devan had a keen eye and knew how to locate the valuable ones and travelled all over the country to pick them up and flip for a profit. He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter, Ezra and Jade Dotson (Porter, Indiana); mother:  Kim Dotson (North Manchester, Indiana); brother:  Justan (Angela) Dotson; sister:  Kendra Dotson; nephews, Tristan and Justin; and niece, Macy (all of North Manchester).  Also surviving are his grandparents:  E. Diane (Harvey) Alsop-Del Buono and Johanne Bradford (both of Sacramento, California); and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father Dennis in 1997, his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Aggie Dotson of North Manchester, and his maternal grandfather, Raymond Bradford of Greenwood, California.

Devan’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 250 N. Main Street, Claypool, Indiana and officiated by Pastor John Dotson.  A graveside service will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool, Indiana.  Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Warsaw Police DARE Office, 2191 Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, IN 46580.  Devan was passionate about the DARE program and always thought that it was the best way to reach our youth about the dangers of drugs.
