Dolores Ann Selvey of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones at 11:56 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the age of 83.
She was born on April 24, 1940, in Leesburg, Indiana to Sara Elizabeth (Bishop) Mock and Wavel Dale Mock. Dolores spent most of her life in Kosciusko County, Indiana where she was a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Indiana.
She was a hardworking lady and worked multiple jobs her entire life. Dolores worked as a waitress at Teels Family Restaurant in Mentone, Indiana as well as working at Hammer Insurance in Mentone. For many years she was the manager of Speedway Gas Station in Schererville, Indiana, drove for a transport service and was a home helper for several people. Dolores simply had a heart for service and was just a big hearted, loving and giving person. She would help anyone in need, with her trusting nature and compassion Dolores even went as far as letting people live with her to help them get back on their feet. The most fulfilling job she ever had in her life was simply being Mom and later in her life being the BEST Grandma ever! She was a wonderful homemaker and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed worshipping at various churches from New Salem Church in Leesburg, the Baptist Church in Mentone and at Warsaw Dutchtown Brethren Church. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
She leaves behind her children, Steve Holloway (Warsaw, IN); Vickie Bradley (Mentone, IN); Jason (Josette) Selvey (Warsaw, IN); and step-daughter, Kim Bowdell (Anderson, IN). Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Bradley; Brett Bradley; Emma and Abbie Selvey; and Brynn Holloway; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Dominic and Regan Gibbs; Alanna Bradley and Ava French; and a beloved friend, Eric Gibbs (Warsaw, IN). She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sara Jane Monteith, brother, James “Jim” Mock.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Dolores’ life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on July 14, 2023, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Chaplain Ryan Howe. A graveside service will follow at Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, Indiana.
