Donald "Don" Correira Obituary

Donald “Don” Telles Correira of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with the Lord at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at his residence at the age of 88.

He was born on April 29, 1933 in Fall River, Massachusetts.  Don was one of three children born to Francelina Raposa (Telles) Correira and Alvino Silva Correira.

Don enlisted in the military and served his country for four years in the Army and dedicated another four years in the Air Force.  At the time of his honorable discharge he had obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He married Elizabeth Louise in 1953, together they raised three daughters and shared 40 years of marriage together before she passed away on July 23, 1993.  The Lord blessed him with a new wife and friend to share the next 27 years of his life with.  On January 16, 1994 he married Glenda “Glennie” Virginia Tuttle and he extended his family with four more step-children and many more grandchildren!

Don worked the majority of his life as an engineer in the medical device field.  He moved to Warsaw, Indiana with his first wife, Betty Lou in 1989 and had worked at Othy Orthopedics for a short time.  In 1990 he pursued a new adventure and began working for KABS (Kosciusko Area Bus Service) and always ensured that area riders were always in good hands until he retired in 2016.

Don was always very patriotic and LOVED his country, he loved his family and most importantly he LOVED his God and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He lived a full life where he honored his Lord daily in everything he did.  Don will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose presence will be forever missed by his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife:  Glennie Virginia Correira (Warsaw, Indiana); three daughters:  Elena (Gregory) Kiley (Clyde, New York); Debbie (John B.) Lowe (Warsaw, Indiana); Lisa Correira (Clifton Springs, New York); four step-children:  Charles Hlutke (Chicago, Illinois); Glenn (Jennifer) Hlutke (North Webster, Indiana); Mike Hlutke (Leesburg, Indiana); and Christy Hoffman (Warsaw, Indiana).  He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; brother:  Ricardo Correira (Connecticut); and his sister-in-law:  Patricia Correira (Massachusetts).  He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Louise Correira, brother, Alvin Correira and his sister-in-law, Carol Correira.

Don’s life will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, 744 S. 325 E., Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by his sons-in-law, Pastor John B. Lowe and Deacon Gregory Kiley.  Military rites will be conducted at the church by members of the American Legion Post 49 and V.F.W. # 1126 both of Warsaw.  Friends and family are welcome to visit prior to the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Don will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Clyde, New York and at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
