Donna Ross Obituary

Donna Ross a resident of Barbee Lake of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at home after a long and full life of 96 years at 8:53 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

She was born on March 25, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana to Grace A. Shoemaker Mason and Alfred M. Cartwright.  On June 23, 1945 she married Dale Dean Ross.  They were blessed with 3 children and 56 years of marriage together before Dale passed away on December 28, 2001.

Donna was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and attended Etna Green High School in Etna Green, Indiana.  She enjoyed the fellowship of her church family at the Church of Christ in Columbia City, Indiana.  She was a smart lady who worked alongside her husband for many years in the family business, Dale Ross Drywall in Warsaw.  Her favorite job in her lifetime was simply being mom and in her later years she relished being a grandmother and great-grandmother.  She never really retired, because mom’s never do, she always kept busy especially being a cheerleader at her grandchildren’s sporting events.  Donna loved to winter in Leesburg, Florida where she played golf and went fishing.  She loved to take walks and crochet wherever she happened to be.  Donna was a fantastic cook and over the years her family enjoyed eating her fried potatoes and of course the best chocolate frosted chocolate cake she was known for making.  She dearly loved her family and was always attentive to their needs, always there for them and never ran out of love to give.  Donna was wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be forever loved and remembered.

She leaves behind two daughters, Linda Shull (Warsaw, IN); Patricia (Joseph) Stump (Pierceton, IN); daughter-in-law, Kathy Ross (Pierceton, IN); thirteen grandchildren: Craig (Patty) Shull (Warsaw, IN); Theresa (Brad) Hall (Pierceton, IN); Steven Shull (Warsaw, IN);    Kristin (Jeremy) Cox (Claypool, IN); Stephanie (Jose) Gutierrez (Mentone, IN); Cy Stump (Pierceton, IN); Elizabeth Stump (Pierceton, IN); Elaine Smith (Pierceton, IN); Jaxsyn Stump (Pierceton, IN); Lillian Stump (Pierceton, IN); Sherry (Mike) Caverley (Warsaw, IN); Denise (Don) Brown (Goshen, IN); Jason Ross (Pierceton, IN); and twenty-four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, son Dennis D. Ross, great-granddaughter, Sadie Hall, three brothers, Hap, Devon and Jr. Cartwright, two sisters, Annie Sievers, Betty Thomas and her son-in-law, Darell Shull.
