Doris Jane Carroll

Doris Jane Carroll a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor East in Wabash, Indiana passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the age of 91.  

She was born on June 19, 1929 in Wabash, Indiana to Elsie (Hass) Hollingshead and George Donald Hollingshead.  On October 15, 1949 she was married to Lamoine Dorian Carroll.  They raised two children and shared 41 years of marriage together before he passed away on December 21, 1990.   

Doris was a graduate of Chippewa High School in Wabash, Indiana.  She worked throughout her life doing various jobs, she worked for many years at Pyramid Oil Company and later in life doing elder care.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and supported the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  She enjoyed going to New Beginnings Community Church in Atwood, Indiana.  Doris loved to cook and was a great baker.  There was always something delicious to smell the moment you walked into her kitchen.  She had a giving heart and enjoyed helping those in need.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.   

She will be lovingly remembered by her son:  Everett Lamoine (Wanda) Carroll (Argos, Indiana); daughter:  Lisa Elaine (Rolf) Holderman (Silver Lake, Indiana); four grandchildren:  Cameron Carroll (Argos, Indiana);  Derek Carroll (Plymouth, Indiana); Travis Spoor (Silver Lake, Indiana); Traci Garcia (Indianapolis, Indiana); step-granddaughter:  Kristie Drew (Franksville, Wisconsin); and her step-grandson:  Brian Holderman (Kerring, Texas).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.             

Doris’ life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Etna Green Cemetery in Etna Green, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
