Eldon Ray Gaither of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with his Lord at 5:05 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the age of 79.

He was born on May 15, 1944, in Vincennes, Indiana to Dorothy Lucille (Owens) Gaither and Berlin D. Gaither.  Eldon proudly served as a Private in the U.S. Army at Olathe, Kansas and was honorably discharged in 1967.   

Eldon was a widower and was blessed to have met a wonderful lady to share his life with again and married Teresa Sue Parker Miller on May 6, 2018. 

He was a reliable and hard-working man his entire life, he worked in the Engineering Department at Chore-Time Brock in Milford, Indiana for many years.  Eldon also loved to serve his community as a fireman at Claypool and Winona Lake.  He attended First Christian Church in Warsaw and enjoyed fellowshipping with his church family.  Eldon was always active and young at heart.  He played church league softball, basketball, pickleball and was the past president of the Northern Indiana Christian Motorcycle Gold Wing Honda Club.  Eldon was a kind, gentle, humble and loving husband, father, grandfather with a great sense of humor.  He will be dearly missed and forever loved by those that knew him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Teresa Sue Gaither (Warsaw, IN); two sons, Steve (Dina) Bennett (Lumberton, TX); Aaron (Mia) Vetter (Granger, IN); step-son, Steve (Jill) Miller (Mentone, IN); and two-stepdaughters, Melissa (Chris) New (Taylorsville, KY); Jennifer Becker (Ft. Wayne, IN).  He leaves behind six grandchildren, Baylee Bennett, Brittany Vetter, Laura Vetter, Kaylyn Miller, Brent and Ethan Miller; and his brother, C. Duane (Carolyn) Gaither (Greenwood, IN).  He was preceded in death by his parents, and previous wives, Stella and Jessica, and two step-sons.

Eldon’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Matthew Rogers.  Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.  A graveside service will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. both of Warsaw and active-duty members of the Indiana Honor Guard.
