Filemon Velazquez-Coyomani of Warsaw, Indiana passed away unexpectedly at 10:32 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 42 after a long illness.
He was born on November 22, 1978 in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico to Saturnina Coyomani and Adolfo Velazquez. Filemon met his future wife, Rosario Perez, and they were married in November 2013.
Filemon lived in Mexico until he was 14 years old and migrated to Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Warsaw, Indiana in 2008 and he worked as a cook at Lakes Grill Restaurant in Silver Lake, Indiana, a small breakfast restaurant for many years. Filemon was a dedicated father who cared for his family immensely. He was a friend and was loved by many. “He will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten!”
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosario Velazquez (Warsaw, Indiana); three daughters: Lizbeth, Kimberly, and Brenda Velazquez and his son, David Velazquez (all of Warsaw). He also leaves behind his mother: Saturnina Coyomani (Mexico); five sisters: Norma and Margarita Velazquez (both of Warsaw, Indiana); Claudia, Isabel, and Marcela Velazquez (all of Mexico); two brothers: Rene Velazquez (Warsaw, Indiana); Ricardo Velazquez (Mexico); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Adolfo Velazquez.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
Filemon’s life will be celebrated by Father Constantino Rocha with a private family mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Warsaw. A private graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
