Hal Eugene Richard

Hal Eugene Richard of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 65. 

He was born on December 15, 1957, in Lakeville, Indiana to Anna Belle (Smith) Richard and Dale Eugene Richard.  Hal was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 1976 graduate of Warsaw High School and attended various churches in the community. Later in Hal’s life he found his greatest joy, Jessica, who he considered his daughter and her 4 children, Ryland, Karson, Mckenna and Averi who called him Papaw Hal.  Hal overcame many struggles throughout his life, but he always came back to his FAITH.

Hal worked for Pancake House, International Friendship House, Walmart, and Jay Petroleum.  Always a familiar face wherever he worked.  He also adventured into his own business, LifeStyle Grocery in Winona Lake before he retired.  He enjoyed model trains and walking.  Hal will forever be remembered as a loving brother and friend to many. 

He leaves behind his three brothers, Ron (Sara) Richard (Rising Sun, IN); James (Carolyn) Richard (Bloomington, IN); Jerry (Sheryl) Richard (Knoxville, TN); and two sisters, Gale (Dennis) Shireman (Delaware, OH); Dianna (Mike) Sellers (Pierceton, IN).  He was preceded in death by his parents. and sister Nancy. 

Hal will be laid to rest with his parents at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana with a private family graveside service.  The family will gather together later to privately celebrate Hal’s life.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
