Obituary

Heidi Marie Walcott of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at her residence surrounded by her loved ones at 6:41 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the age of 58.  She fought a courageous battle with cancer and insisted that life go on as normal.  Cancer wasn’t going to interfere with all of the precious time she was able to spend with her family.  Those that knew Heidi, understood that she would never let this illness or her enduring pain get in her way even throughout her treatment.  Her lovely smile and big heart kept her going.

She was born on February 22, 1965, in Goshen, Indiana to Helen D. (Lange) Troyer and Donald Allen Troyer.  Heidi grew up in Goshen and was a 1983 graduate of Fairfield High School.  On April 27, 1985, she married the love of her life and best friend, Daniel A. Walcott.  They shared 38 wonderful years together before Heidi passed away.

Heidi served alongside her husband, Dan, in their family business as the vice-president of Eagle Outdoor Advertising in Warsaw which they founded in 1985.  Her family stated that Heidi was the glue that kept the company heading in a positive path, she was the voice of reason.  Heidi was the one who was always organized.

She attended Bethany Community Church in New Paris.  Heidi was an absolute inspiration to everyone who knew her, had a great sense of humor, and dearly loved being Mom and Grandma!  She always had enough time and love for family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.  She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her husband, Daniel Walcott (Warsaw, IN); two sons, Darren Walcott, Brandt (Lindsay) Walcott (both of Warsaw, IN); and her beloved three grandchildren, Marlie, Addie and Myles Walcott.  Also surviving are her parents, Parents, Donald and Helen Troyer; and two sisters, Tammy (Joe) Sparklin and Laura (Jim) Magnus (all of Millersburg, IN)

Heidi’s life will be celebrated privately by her family, thoughts and prayers are appreciated.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed to Fair Haven at Ada's Place, 1702 W 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46202.   Fair Haven lifts a burden for families while in Indianapolis by providing them with a home-away-from-home.  Their mission is sharing the love of Christ through gracious hospitality and compassionate support.  Having a convenient and comfortable place to stay near the hospital means that seriously-ill patients can get the life-saving care they need, and it means that families can be together when they need each other most.
