James “Jim” Mock of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November16, 2021 at his residence at the age of 75.
He was born on July 25, 1946 in Goshen, Indiana to Sara Elizabeth (Bishop) Mock and W. Dale Mock. On October 18, 1986 he was married to Judy Ann (Garber) Valentine Mock. They spent their time antiquing and enjoying life with their combined families until she passed away on August 15, 1996.
Jim was a Milford High School graduate in Milford, Indiana. He enjoyed the simple things in life, a good meal, a basketball game (especially Indiana), the Chicago Cubs, a collection of vintage treasures, a game of cards or dominoes, and being around family. He spent 42 years working for R.R. Donnelley in Warsaw, mainly in the Land’s End division. Jim loved his job and all of the friends he made there. He was also a former Mason and Shriner. Jim was loved by his family and friends, and his sense of humor, devotion, and kind-hearted generosity will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his sister: Dolores Ann Holloway Selvey (Warsaw, Indiana); nieces and nephews: Steve Holloway (Warsaw, IN); Vickie Bradley (Mentone, IN); Jason Selvey (Warsaw, IN); Reni Whitcombe (Dixon, IL); Ronda (Dean) Ekberg (Mahomet, IL); Ryan Monteith (Dixon, IL); Rochelle Monteith-Bollman (Dixon, IL); and his brother-in-law: Richard Monteith (Dixon, IL). Also surviving are many great-nieces and nephews, and his special friends Tom & Marcia Waikel and Larry & Sue Morris (Warsaw, IN). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judy, sister, Sara Jane Monteith, son, Richard Mock, step-son, Gary Valentine, and his step-granddaughter, Rochelle Valentine.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 noon on Monday, November 22, 2021 with his service to follow at 12:00 noon at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Envoy Ken Locke of the Salvation Army. A graveside service will follow at Leesburg Cemetery , Leesburg, Indiana.
