Janet Fay Brown of Warsaw, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse, Indiana at the age of 81.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 10, 1940 to Agnes Alberta (Hill) Boggess and Edward Willard Boggess. On March 26, 1988 she was married to Holly Gene Brown, they were blessed to have shared 33 years of marriage together before she passed away.
Janet was a 1958 graduate of Holly High School in Holly, Michigan. She owned and operated the Dairy Dine Restaurant for a number of years. In the mid 70’s she began working as a cashier at Hamady Bros in Fenton, Michigan, her smiling face and cheerful personality greeted everyone there until she retired in 1990. After she married Holly, they moved to Millington, Michigan followed by a move to Clio, Michigan in 1996. In 2004 they made their final move to their home here in Warsaw, Indiana. No matter where they lived, it was always home wherever there were friends and family. Janet was great with her hands, had an eye for detail and plenty of patience and loved doing her crocheting, sewing and quilt making. She could spend hours concentrating on her jigsaw puzzles and getting her hands dirty gardening. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will forever be remembered for her love of her family and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her husband: Holly Brown (Warsaw, Indiana); three daughters: Teri (Mark) Skibowski (Warsaw, Indiana); Kim (Matt) Allen (Detroit, Michigan); and Tammy (Jeremy) Schmidt (Torrington, Wyoming). Also surviving are her beloved seven granddaughters: Amanda, Katie, Karlie, Brittany, Lauren, Kelsea and Kendal; eight great-grandchildren; brother: Bussy (Nancy) Boggess (Temperance, Michigan); and her sister: Charlotte Shannon (Mendon, Michigan). She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, James Boggess.
Janet’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 officiated by Pastor Ryan Petgen, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.
