Jimmie Justice Obituary

Jimmie Justice of Warsaw, Indiana passed away surrounded by the love of his family at 5:17 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He had just celebrated is 86th birthday before he passed away.

He was born on February 2, 1938, in Eastern, Kentucky to Gracie L. (Patton) and Sim Justice.  Jimmie found the perfect lady in Mary I. Blevins and at the young age of 17 he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with her.  They were married on December 15, 1955, and were blessed to have shared 54 years together before Mary passed away on August 17, 2010.

A resident of Warsaw, Indiana since 1958, he supported his family by being a hard-working and reliable employee at Zimmer in Warsaw.  He worked in assembly for 30 years as well as working at Dalton Foundry in Warsaw for seven years and security for the “KEMRAD”.

Jimmie enjoyed worshiping his Lord with his church family at Warsaw Community Life Center.  He loved listening to bluegrass music, especially Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.  Jimmie may have left Kentucky but he sure loved cheering on the University of Kentucky basketball, and had a great time watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs.  He always kept busy doing one thing or another and was very good with his hands and woodworking.  He enjoyed making various projects for his yard, from bird houses, squirrel feeders, even wheelbarrows.  When it came to his grandkids, he loved to make them rocking horses.  Jimmie was a good and decent man who was dearly loved by his entire family.  His smiling face and laugh will be forever missed by his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Sharon Justice (Warsaw, IN); Sandra (Marty) Bumgardner (Warsaw, IN); and Sonia (Dan) Shepherd (Warsaw, IN).  Also surviving are five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (Troy) Jarrell (Dana, KY); and three brothers, Kenneth Justice (Allen, KY); Jerry Justice (Prestonsburg, KY); and Paul Justice (Allen, KY).  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, three brothers, Charles, Henry, and Sherrill Justice, and two sisters, Marie Ward and Marlene Hayes.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Jimmie’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Phil Chandler.  A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
