Jimmy "Jim" Rapp Obituary

Jimmy “Jim” Kaye Rapp of Leesburg, Indiana went home to be with his Lord at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw at the age of 86.

He was born on March 29, 1937, in Dearborn, Michigan to Joy Maxine (Thomas) and Doyle Max Rapp.  Jim had been a resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 78 years where he graduated from Etna Green High School.  He was blessed with 64 years of marriage to his bride, Linda Trowbridge.  They were married in the spring, on April 30, 1960.

For a number of years he worked at OEC in Bourbon, IN and in 1958 he began working at R.R. Donnelley & Son’s in Warsaw.  Jim was a hard-working man his entire life and developed many friendships with his Donnelley family over the 40 years he worked there, retiring in 1998.  He was an avid race fan, having attended the Indianapolis 500 for 50 consecutive years!  Jim always had a love of Corvettes, was good with his hands and detail work from carving to painting and drawing.  He enjoyed traveling and a good day boating was relaxing.  He was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Jim will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda Rapp (Leesburg, IN); son, Sam Rapp (North Webster, IN); daughter, Dana (Walter) Wihebrink (Elkmont, AL).  Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brandon (Nicole) Rapp (Pierceton, IN); Chelsea Rapp (Warsaw, IN); Brianna (Jared) Mutchler (Atwood, IN); Karly Rapp (Warsaw, IN); six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Thomas Rapp (Etna Green, IN).  He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Jim’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High Street, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Aaron Klein.  Friends and family may visit two hours prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.  He will be laid to rest at a later date at Stony Point Cemetery in Atwood, Indiana.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be directed to Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High Street, Warsaw, IN  46580; or to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, 1048 S. 325 W., Pierceton, Indiana  46562 and would be appreciated by his family.
