Joe Lozier Obituary

Joe Philip Lozier of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with his Lord at 5:42 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 84.

He was born on September 2, 1939, in Warsaw, Indiana.  One of seven children born to Bertha (Snell) Lozier and Harry Lozier.  He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1957 and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana in 1961.  Joe wore many hats during his life, he worked for Horace Mann Insurance, taught business classes at Millersburg High school, and enjoyed helping his neighbors on their farms.  Joe and his brother, Carl, owned and operated Lozier’s Marina on Chapman Lake for many years.

On December 20, 1958, he married the love of his life, Normalee Henderson.  They were blessed with raising four children and shared the joy of becoming grandparent’s multiple times.  They celebrated 45 wedding anniversaries before Normalee passed away on January 29, 2004.

Joe was a longtime member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church and could always be counted on when they needed volunteers.  He had a heart for service and loved to help others whenever needed.  He was on the Board for Lifetouch Ministries in Warsaw for many years and enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader.  Joe always enjoyed spending a great day fishing whenever he was able to.  He always greeted everyone with a smile, and one could not forget his great firm handshake.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone, had a kind heart and a great sense of humor.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He would most want to be remembered for his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and he is now rejoicing in Heaven!

He leaves behind two sons, Tony (Luanne) Lozier (Warsaw, IN); Todd (Patty) Lozier (Elkhart, IN); two daughters, Jodi Lozier (Pierceton, IN); Leah Lozier (Seattle, WA); five grandchildren, Ryan, Carley, Mitchell, and Camille Lozier; and Alexandra and Michael Harry Pfau; and one great-grandchild, Eva Lozier.  Also surviving is his brother, Donald Lozier (Warsaw, IN); and his sister, Helen Williams (MI).  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four brothers, Robert, John, Carl and Dean Lozier, and his sister Retha Hudson.
