John Henry King

John Henry King, of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake, Indiana at the age of 93. 

He was born on September 5, 1930, in Campton, Kentucky to the late Martha (Banks) King and George Toby King.  In 1960 he was married in Columbia City, Indiana to Lula (Spradlin) Walls.  They were blessed with 50 years of marriage together before Lula passed away in 2010.      

John was a reliable, hard-working man his entire life, and retired after 28 years from Whitley Products in Pierceton, Indiana.  Even after retirement he worked for a boat company for three years.  Finally, John was going to enjoy his retirement and moved to Florida in 1990 where he was a member of the Port Charlotte, Florida Church of Christ.  John returned to Indiana in 2021 to spend his final years.  He was a kind and loving man who will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind his sister, Fannie Prevette (NC); step-daughter, Alice Lockwood (North Webster, IN); three step daughters-in-law, Becky Walls (North Webster, IN); Nancy Walls (Pierceton, IN); and Susie Walls (CA).  He was preceded in death by his wife, three step-sons, Lee, Lawrence and Douglas Walls, step-daughter, Irene Clay, sister, Mildred Henson and his brothers, Morton, Melvin, and George King, Jr. 

John’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Glenn Hall.  Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
