Whenever possible, Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home will continue to enable families to participate in the rituals that are most important to them and allow them to be able to say their final good-bye to their loved one. Should you feel the need to stay home, please do so....families will understand. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Judy Wendt of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 6:13 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age of 77.
She was born on September 22, 1942 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Dorothy M. (Carson) Bushnell and Dale A. Bushnell. On June 11, 1963 she was married to Theodore “Ted” Wendt, who survives.
Judy received her bachelor’s degree in science and education from Colorado State University. She was a proud lifelong educator and taught secondary education and high school in Fort Collins, Colorado and Franklin, Massachusetts. She had a passion for teaching and loved her students. Judy never tired of teaching children about history and took her responsibility as a teacher to heart and wanted to prepare her students for the future. She and her husband moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana in 1994 from Arlington, Texas. She was a supporter of Precept Ministries International teaching people how to study scripture worldwide. She became a Precept teaching leader, going on many tours with Precept to Israel and Greece following Paul’s missionary journeys. Judy enjoyed attending Warsaw Community Church and Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She loved the mountains and her place in Colorado. She simply loved the Lord’s creations and the beauty in the west and its vast wildness. Judy will be remembered for her love of people and her giving heart…but most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Ted Wendt; son: Michael (Linda) W. Wendt (Salt Lake City, Utah); daughter: Amy (Chris) Lowman (Warsaw, Indiana); two grandchildren: Matthew Lowman and Megan Lowman (both of Warsaw, Indiana); and her brother: Jack (Jeanette) Bushnell (Flower Mound, Texas). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy’s life will be celebrated with a private service on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by E.J. Underwood. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana. The family has requested the service be listed as private for close family to attend, the service will be recorded and can be found uploaded to https://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/judy.wendt.7982?tsid=0.4313387108033153&source=result Thursday afternoon.
