Karen Newhouse Obituary

Karen Lee Newhouse of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 74.

She was born on December 31, 1946 in Warsaw, Indiana to Velma Iris (Robison) Hall and James M. Hall.  On October 3, 1987 she was married to Stephen H. Newhouse.  They shared 33 years of friendship, love, life and marriage together before she passed away.

She was raised in Kosciusko County and was a 1965 Leesburg High School graduate.  Throughout her life she moved around with her family and had left the area for 25 years moving back in 2010.  She worked in sales, marketing and human resources and did sales for an industrial training and marketing company for many years.  Karen loved people and never knew a stranger.  She especially loved to catch up with friends and family and enjoyed nice long visits.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Warsaw where she enjoyed the fellowship of her church family.  Karen had a heart for helping others and donated her gift of time and sewing skills to support Ryan’s Case for Smiles, an organization that provides whimsical pillowcases to give children in the hospital an emotional boost while helping with the stress and emotional impact of illness.  She was great with her hands and had an eye for detail through quilting, knitting and working on her countless puzzles.  Karen loved her T.V. time and one of her favorite shows was Texas Game Warden.  She enjoyed being outdoors and looked forward to mowing season and making her yard look great as well as her garden.  She helped her husband, Steve, make furniture as well as remodel every home they lived in.  Karen loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Steve Newhouse (Warsaw, Indiana); two sons:  Mike Newhouse (Washington); Joshua (Heather) Gunter (Avon Lake, Ohio); two daughters:  Jennifer (David) Jostes (Cedar Lake, Indiana); Vondria (Zachary) Netzley (Warsaw, Indiana); and fifteen grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her brother:  Mike (Deb) Hall (Leesburg, Indiana); and two sisters:  Cathy Hall (Warsaw, Indiana); Jane (Jeff) Endicott (Honeoye Falls, New York).  She was preceded in death by her parents.
