Lane Anderson Obituary

Lane James Anderson of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2023.  He passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 77.

Lane was born October 6, 1945 in Geneva, Illinois to Ken and Doris (Jones) Anderson.  He lived in Muskegan, Michigan until moving to Warsaw, Indiana in 1961.  Where he would reside for the rest of his life, except for a short time in Monterey California, which would become his favorite place on Earth.  He served with distinction in the U.S. Army from 1966-69 including an 8 month tour in Vietnam.  During his time in Vietnam, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his service.  Upon leaving military service, he joined his father’s ministry, Ken Anderson Films, which over time would evolve into InterComm.  Which saw he and his wife travel all over the world, providing tools for ministry in local languages in many counties.  He retired in 2017 and continued to travel the world, this time for fun with his loving wife, son and daughter-in-law.

Lane was a world traveler having visited well over 50 countries, including an around the world trip with his father in 1961.  This love of travel would fuel his ministry and personal travels his entire life.  However, his favorite place was always returning to the beautiful coast of Monterey, California.  He was a huge fan of motor sports, attending races starting with the 1958 Indy 500 all the way up to attending NASCAR races with his family in Texas.  He was an avid runner having completed 19 marathons including the 1991 Boston Marathon.

Lane attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church serving in many capacities including serval stints as an Elder.  He was active in the Warsaw community and was a member of the local Rotary Club serving as the foreign exchange student coordinator for many years.  Lane was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Anderson, son, Jeff Anderson and his daughter-in-law, Leanna Anderson.  Also surviving are three sisters, Naoma Clark, Margret Mauzy and Melody Anderson; as well as three brothers, Donn (Diane) Anderson, Max (Claudia) Anderson and Ken (Beth) Anderson.

Lane’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Aaron Klein.  Military rites will be conducted by local members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw, as well as active duty members of the Army Honor Guard.  Friends and family may visit an hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you feel lead, a donation be given to Youth Haven Ranch, P.O. Box 97, Rives Junction, MI  49277. Lane was a member of the board of this ministry for many years.
