Lane Evan Collier of Claypool, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at his residence in Claypool, Indiana at the young age of 21.

He was born on May 12, 1999 in Warsaw, Indiana.  One of five children born to Deana Lynn (Wertenberger) Eberly and Mark Franklin Collier.  Lane was the only boy in a house surrounded by four loving sisters.

He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where he was a 2018 graduate of Whitko High School in South Whitley, Indiana.  In December 2018 Lane started his new life of adulthood working as a welder at Microtech Welding Corporation in Warsaw until his passing.  Lane was a kind person, who loved to hang out with his friends. He loved ALL kinds of sports including football, basketball, baseball, motor cross, boating, snow skiing and fishing.  Always comfortable being outdoors, he also enjoyed his time indoors.  He would watch whatever sport he was in the mood for and never tired of playing hours of video games.  Lane was still a boy at heart, he was an engaging young man who, even as a little boy, always had a mischievous smile.  He was definitely the fun uncle and how he adored his nieces and nephews and could tirelessly play with them.  Lane will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother:  Deana Eberly (Columbia City, Indiana); father:  Mark Collier (Claypool, Indiana); and four sisters:  Michelle (Austin) Salesman (South Whitley, Indiana); Alicia (Michael) Evans (Pierceton, Indiana); Heather (Caleb) Licata (Groton, Connecticut); and Alexis Cox (Liberty Mills, Indiana).  He leaves behind many Aunts and Uncles as well as his step-grandmother:  Paula Wertenberger (Pierceton, Indiana); and step-grandparents: Kenneth (Gayle) Bucher (Warsaw, Indiana).  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Valda Collier, Dennis Wertenberger and Charlyn Bucher.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.  Lane’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service immediately following visitation at 7:00 p.m. and officiated by Pastor David Wagner.  Burial will be at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton, Indiana.
