Larry James Bennett of Warsaw, Indiana passed away surrounded by his family at 5:02 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 71.
He was born on November 23, 1949 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Irene Margaret (Pensinger) Bennett and Clarence Jackson Bennett. He celebrated the 4th of July in 1969 by getting married in Kingsbury, Indiana to Clara Gladys Marquardt. They shared 44 years together before she passed away on March 16, 2014.
Larry’s parents moved to Indiana in 1951 and he has lived in Kosciusko County, Indiana since 1971. He attended LaPorte Schools, afterwards he started working at Warsaw Plating Works. Larry provided for his family and was always a hard worker. He made many friends at work over the 28 years at Warsaw Plating before he retired.
Larry and his wife enjoyed going to car shows, swap meets, flea markets, and auctions. After Clara, his wife, passed away, Larry started to spend time at Magical Meadows in Warsaw. He loved working with the horses and children with physical, mental or emotional challenges. He witnessed the healing power of the horses and it brought a smile to his face. He also enjoyed attending their Cowboy Church.
He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Haliee and Dayna. Larry will be forever loved and remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son: Fender Bennett (Warsaw, Indiana); Two granddaughters: Haliee and Dayna Bennett (Warsaw, Indiana); and two brothers: Bruce (Beth) Bennett (Bedford, Indiana) and Steve Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Jack Bennett and his sister, Barbara Weathers.
Larry’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Carl Adams and his brother, Bruce Bennett. There will be two hours of visitation prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
