Madge Harman Obituary

Madge Joanne Harman a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, Indiana and formerly of Claypool, Indiana passed away at 1:08 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 82. 

She was born on April 29, 1939 in Decatur, Indiana to Melba Lee (Kraft) and Fred Ancil Scheiderer.  

Madge graduated from Decatur High School in 1957 and the following year she was a young bride of 19 years old when she married Norman Harman on June 6, 1958 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She raised her family and was an excellent homemaker & farmer's wife.  Madge then began to drive the bus for Cardinal Center in Warsaw which led to her job with Warsaw Community School Corporation.  For over 25 years she safely brought thousands of children to and from school as a bus driver until she retired in 2002.  She always kept busy and was a member of the Happy Homemakers Home-Ec Club and a long-time member of West Eel River Church of the Brethren.  Madge loved politics and served as the Clay I Precinct Committee Person and was honored as the 2005 Republican Woman of the Year.  Madge was an avid reader, enjoyed being around people and always had a great smile.  She loved her family and especially LOVED her grandchildren.  Madge will forever be loved and missed by her family and friends. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Laurie (Gary) Renier (Winona Lake, Indiana); two sons:  Tom (Allyson) Harman (Warsaw, Indiana); Mark (Michelle) Harman (Silver Lake, Indiana); and her daughter-in-law:  Ann Harman (Warsaw, Indiana).  She also leaves behind her beloved twelve grandchildren:  Scott, Brent, Nick, Audra, Matthew, Jeremy, Shayna, Jeff, Chris, Aaron, Olivia and Hilary; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers:  Allen (Alice) Scheiderer (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Duane (Denise) Scheiderer (Van Wert, Ohio); and her sister:  Glenda Inniger (Decatur, Indiana).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years, Norman Harman in 2003 and her son, John in 2020.           

Madge’s life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Aaron Klein of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
