Margaret "Peg" Town Obituary

Margaret “Peg” Elizabeth Town of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Mason Health Care in Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 83.   The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Mason’s Health and Rehab staff for their dedicated care of Peg.

She was born on October 5, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Eunice (Bostwick) and Jackson Waite Campbell.  Peg graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1958.  A few years later, she decided to spend the rest of her life with a young man by the name of Jack A. Town whom she met on a blind date.  They were married on October 8, 1960.  They celebrated 63 years of marriage together before Peg passed away.

Throughout her life Peg worked as a clerk in the accounting department at United Telephone Company in Warsaw.  She was also a familiar face for many years at Mutual Federal Bank in Warsaw and North Webster where she was a bank teller.

Peg's creative flare is something that really stands out in the memories of her family.  She even gained a reputation during her high school years with her artistic abilities, as she created a high school mascot and her work was covered in the South Bend News Paper.  When Jack and Peg moved to the Warsaw area Peg designed the floor plans for the two homes they built. All of her family member's homes are adorned with ink drawings (Peg's preferred artistic medium) that Peg had drawn over the years.  Peg made numerous Halloween costumes for both her own kids and her grandchildren. She, also, was very creative in the kitchen and was known for her cooking and baking skills. During her years of attending Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, she served in the children's nursery and her artistic skills proved very fruitful there, as well.  Peg will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.  She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

She leaves behind her husband, Jack A. Town (Warsaw, IN); daughter, Robin L. Town (Kenosha, WI); son, Allen (Christine) Town (Winthrop Harbor, IL); and three grandchildren, Caleb (Mary) Town (Milwaukee, WI); Ethan Town (Oceanside, CA); and Anna Town (Sofia, Bulgaria).  Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Janet (Tom) Bridegroom, Juanita (John) Yoder and Judy (Mick) Evans.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Jackie Jackson and Roberta Campbell.

Peg’s life will be celebrated with a service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2023, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Andrew Morton.  Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
