Maria Altagracia Cervantes de Rodriguez of Leesburg, Indiana passed away surrounded by family at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her residence at the age of 77.
She was born on December 22, 1943 in Apaseo el Alto, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico to Gregoria Vega and Jose Luis Cervantes. In 1963 she was married to Amado Rodriguez Juarez. They shared 57 years of marriage together before he passed away on May 10, 2014.
Maria moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana in 2008 and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Warsaw. She will be remembered as a loving mother who always took care of her children. She was a hard-working woman who put her children’s well-being first before anything. Maria came into this world to do the best job God could have given her and her family will forever be thankful. She was an amazing and supportive wife who stood by her husband’s side until the end.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five sons (all of Warsaw, Indiana): Joel (wife Yolanda) Rodriguez; Amado (wife Rebeca) Rodriguez; Efrain (wife Veronica) Rodriguez; Ramiro (wife Ofelia) Rodriguez; Arturo Rodriguez; two daughters: Estela (husband Jose) Mendoza (Warsaw, Indiana); and Yeni Rodriguez (husband Marcos Medina) (Leesburg, Indiana). She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Trinidad Cervantes, Luis Cervantes; and three sisters: Aurelia Cervantes, Victoria Cervantes, Aurora Cervantes. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends and family may visit from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. during visitation.
Maria’s life will be celebrated by Father Constantino Rocha with a private family mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Warsaw. A private graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
