Marilyn Williams Obituary

Due to the current guidelines regarding public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus and safety concerns, please use good judgment in determining the length of your visit or if you should attend.  If six feet of social distancing is not maintained then masks are required for the visitation and service.  There will be no congregating in the parking lot.

Marilyn Sue Williams, formerly of Winona Lake, Indiana, passed away at 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community in Franklin, Indiana at the age of 87.  

She was born on February 19, 1933 in Richmond, Indiana to Iva Belle (Wantland) Kelly and William Aaron Kelly.  On September 13, 1953 she was married to Carl Edward Williams.  They raised three children and shared 62 years of marriage together before he passed away on June 16, 2015.   

Marilyn attended two years at Indiana University and worked for many years in Personnel at United Telephone Company.  She and her late husband were residents of Kosciusko County, Indiana since 1970, where they were longtime members of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, Indiana.  Marilyn was a member of the Warsaw Tri-Kappa chapter and was a devoted Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for many years.  She enjoyed reading and playing Bridge with various groups of friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.  

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Sharon Williams (Columbus, Indiana); grandson:  Zachary Williams (Los Angeles, California); and her granddaughter:  Kaelin Hanrattie (Columbus, Indiana).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and her two sons, Bradley and Brian Williams. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marilyn’s life with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.  Visitation will be held prior to the graveside service at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.   Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. 

Memorial donations in Marilyn’s name may be directed to CASA of Kosciusko County, 121 N. Lake Street, Warsaw, Indiana  46580.
