James Mathew Sizemore, affectionately known to all as simply Matt, a lifetime resident of Warsaw, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his residence at the age of 41.
Matt was born on June 4, 1979 in Warsaw, Indiana to Lora (Holbrook) Sizemore and James Arthur Sizemore.
Matt attended Warsaw Community High School where he excelled at many sports. He played football and was on the wrestling team where he achieved the status of being 2nd in the State of Indiana. He never lost his love for sports, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, or playing disc golf with his friends. Matt was great with his hands and was detail oriented in his work as a carpenter for Jeremy Porter for several years. He enjoyed the worship music and fellowship of his church family at New Beginnings Church and World Outreach in Warsaw and he loved to share HIS LOVE for God! Matt wanted to give back and help those in need learn from his life experiences and he became a counselor with True Purpose Ministries in Warsaw…a Jesus Christ-based school of ministry for individuals who have fallen short in life. He also became a mentor for Men of Recovery. Matt wanted to be there as a person for those in recovery could turn to during challenging times throughout their journey. He simply wanted to be able to walk alongside them because at the same time they too helped him on his journey. Matt wasn’t perfect, as no one really is, but he never stopped persevering. His life was full of ups and downs and he had struggles just like everyone else does, but his genuine love for Jesus, people and life kept him going one day at a time. His smiling face will forever be remembered and loved by his family and many friends he leaves behind.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, from a previous relationship with Selina Davis, that changed his life when he became a proud Dad to Karson Raymond Sizemore (Warsaw, Indiana). He also leaves behind his mother: Lora Sizemore (Warsaw, Indiana); father: James Arthur Sizemore (Warsaw, Indiana); two sisters: Angela (Daniel) Zolman (Warsaw, Indiana); Vanessa (Mark) Pohl (Winona Lake, Indiana); brother: Ryan Hampton-Sizemore (Warsaw, Indiana); and he was the Fun-Uncle to six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nora and Martin Holbrook; and Lannie and Martha (Raborn) Sizemore.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Matt’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Hedgel Perry. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 to go towards his funeral expenses.
